Should I do a studio session or an on-location session?

Both are great options – the choice is up to you!  The studio is primarily a natural light studio and has a number of backdrops/props to choose from, as well as a variety of outdoor shooting areas within walking distance.  On-location sessions can be either inside or outside. They can be at your home, at a favorite park, a museum, or anywhere else we can think of!  I am constantly seeking out new and exciting locations for future photo shoots. If you have a place in mind, I’d love to hear about it! During your pre-session phone consultation, we’ll discuss location options to make sure we choose somewhere that is the perfect fit for you.

What happens if it rains the day of our outdoor shoot?

If it rains on the day of your shoot, we may be able to do session in the studio or reschedule for another day. If it’s just a little gloomy, we can often still shoot outdoors without a problem. In fact, cloud coverage can make for some gorgeous photographs!

What if my child does not cooperate? 

As a mother of young children myself, I know that kids are unpredictable and sometimes a temper tantrum is inevitable. In that case, we will simply take a break and allow the child to calm down. We will ease back into the session when everyone is ready.The best way to combat behavior issues is to get kids excited about the session by talking about it with them beforehand. Be as upbeat and positive as possible. Come to your session prepared with snacks, water, and a few games/toys. During the session, focus on having fun and engaging with your child rather than trying to get them to look at the camera or smile for every photo. It’s my job to get their attention. Your job is to have fun. This will set the stage for some wonderful interaction shots as well as allow me to interact naturally with your child to elicit their trust and natural expressions.

How do you take payments? 

A $150 deposit is due at the time of booking to hold your session date and time. This fee is payable by cash or check and is non-refundable. The remaining amount for the session will be due upon receipt of your order. Sessions may be rescheduled up to one week prior to the session date. A fee of $25 will be applied to sessions rescheduled within 7 days of the original session date. Sessions may be rescheduled within 24 hours of session time due to illness or weather without penalty.

Can I share the photos on social media? 

Of course! I love it when people share their photographs! I just ask that you don’t crop out my logo and that you link to my webpage or blog whenever possible.
